Welcome to Murray's F.C.

15/5/2015

The purpose of this page is to provide a contact, a port of call; a haven of images of recent activities and a point of reference for those trying to find a place to put their boots on in the sunny Dongguan afternoons or hot evenings - cold winter evenings are also available, but terribly infrequent.

We have players from all over the world, located all over Dongguan - and beyond.  Players often travel from Houjie, Dongcheng, Nancheng, Hong Kong, Wanjiang, Guancheng, Hengli, Songshan, Shatian, Liaobu, Zhongtang... to name but a few districts and townships.

Linguistically we have Portuguese, English, Spanish, Welsh, Farsi, Chinese, Cantonese, Norwegian, Dutch and other language speakers amongst our gibberish.

Every continent is represented except for Antarctica - but we're working on signing some penguins.

In our ranks we have a knowledgeable bunch and Eddy too - some of the clan, like Alain have been living here since Zhuge Liang lived around China.  Whether it is new boots, a place to train, a gym (ran by Sander), or Noah's knowledge on go-karting... we have a few answers... and great recommendations about food.  We're social, silly and welcoming.  We're not clicky and welcome all.

Some days we field two teams simultaneously at the same time.  There are usually two games a week - and there is no obligation to play often or infrequently.  Demand and supply suits all.  Our players vary in age from as young as 16 to as old as time itself.  No names mentioned Rogerio.  Ability isn't needed, although it does help.  Whether you're a budding Shaun Goater, Messi or Falcao or more suited to the styles of Lee Bradbury, Andy Morrison, or Royston Keane, we'll find you a spot.  Come play our game.  We hold the odd training session too.

Kits aren't free but the last order equated to 88RMB per kit (shorts, customised name and number t-shirt with socks).

After each game and at frequent intervals socials extend from a free drink, to cheap Argentinian, Brazilian BBQs, to just a natter in Murray's bar over some Irish style foods.  Then there are day trips to Hengli to play a game, away games in Houjie, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and so on.

If you want to go swimming, play board games, link in with HubHao or HereDG for other activities, we can push you in the right direction.

Murray's FC Smoggies seal third spot!

16/12/2014

The local inaugral Dongguan Foreigners' Friendly Football League competition ended this week.  Murray's FC Owls finished fifth place and Murray's FC Smoggies claimed 3rd place in a tough league featuring amongst the eentrants no less than three all-Brazilian skillful teams and a team packed full of Italians.

At times in the campaign both Murray's teams struggled to fill the bench and a whole wealth of players was selected from.  Well done to all for turning up, giving their all and learning from this flagship event.  Murray's FC are grateful for Soccerworld, Mateus and the referrees and anybody else involved in the organisation of a great debut tournmant.  FC Caveira claimed top spot, with maximum points, followed by runners-up Brazil (who only lost two games to the Champions).

We're not really here...
